At the age of 93, Rupert Murdoch, the founder of Sky News, has entered into his fifth marriage. He exchanged vows with Elena Zhukova, a 67-year-old retired molecular biologist, at his vineyard and estate, Moraga, in California.
Hailing from Moscow, Ms. Zhukova donned a white dress for the occasion, while Mr. Murdoch opted for a dark suit complemented by a patterned yellow tie. The pair first crossed paths at a family gathering the previous year.
Before this, Mr. Murdoch had been engaged to Ann Lesley Smith, a former San Francisco police chaplain, but the engagement was called off. His fourth marriage, to Jerry Hall, ended in divorce in August 2022.
Among his previous marriages, he was wedded to entrepreneur Wendi Deng for 14 years before their divorce in 2014. They share two daughters. His second marriage was with Scottish journalist Anna Murdoch Mann, with whom he had three children. They parted ways in 1999.
His first wife was Patricia Booker, a former flight attendant, with whom he had a daughter. Their marriage ended in 1966.
In September 2023, following Mr. Murdoch’s decision to step down, his son Lachlan assumed the role of the sole chair of News Corp.
