David Schwimmer Calls on Elon Musk to Ban Kanye West from X Over Antisemitic Posts

Many of the rapper’s X posts on Friday centred on the Jewish community, the most severe of which said “I love Hitler” and “I’m a Nazi”.

Actor David Schwimmer has publicly urged Elon Musk to remove Kanye West from X (formerly Twitter) after the rapper made a series of deeply offensive posts targeting the Jewish community.

West, who has a history of making antisemitic remarks, took to X on Friday to share multiple posts, including the shocking statements, “I love Hitler” and “I’m a Nazi.” His comments sparked immediate backlash, with many calling for action against him.

Schwimmer, best known for his role as Ross Geller on Friends, has been vocal in his stance against hate speech. He directly addressed Musk, the owner of X, urging him to take a firm stand against West’s rhetoric. The actor described the rapper’s words as “hate-filled” and “ignorant,” emphasizing the dangers of allowing such speech to spread on social media platforms.

Musk, who has repeatedly positioned himself as a free speech advocate, has been criticized in the past for his handling of content moderation on X. While the platform has policies against hate speech, enforcement has been inconsistent, leading to concerns about the spread of harmful ideologies.

Schwimmer’s plea has resonated with many who believe that social media companies must take stronger action against individuals who use their platforms to incite hate. As of now, it remains unclear whether Musk will heed the call and remove West from X.

The controversy highlights the ongoing debate about the balance between free speech and platform responsibility, particularly when influential figures use their voices to spread harmful narratives.
