Adele confronts homophobic heckler during concert

A video of Adele challenging a homophobic heckler has been widely circulated on social media.

During her Saturday night performance at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, as part of her Weekends With Adele residency, the acclaimed singer responded to an audience member who shouted: “Pride sucks.”

The artist behind the hit song “Hello” retorted: “Did you attend my f***ing concert just to say that Pride sucks?

“Are you out of your mind? Don’t be so f***ing absurd.”

The star, who hails from Tottenham, further added: “If you don’t have anything pleasant to say, keep quiet, okay?”

June is recognized as Pride month, a time to celebrate LGBTQ communities globally.

The Grammy-winning artist has repeatedly expressed her support for Pride and the LGBTQ community.

Following the tragic event in 2016 that resulted in the death of 49 individuals at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, she dedicated a concert in Belgium to the victims in the city and those present at the club during the attack, stating: “The LGBTQ community has been like my soul mates since I was very young, so I’m deeply affected by it.”

She has also mentioned that her song “Set Fire To The Rain” was intended to be a “gay anthem”.

Earlier this year, Adele announced her plans to perform in Europe for the first time since 2016.

She has scheduled four performances in Germany for August at Munich’s Messe exhibition centre, which has a capacity of 80,000 – a booking she referred to as “somewhat random”.

Her most recent performance in the UK was in July 2022 at the British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park.
