Olly Murs, the singer known for his hit “Heart Skips A Beat”, confessed to feeling a deep sense of loneliness after becoming distanced from his twin over a decade ago. He revealed in an interview with The Times that he yearned for companionship, a feeling intensified by the unique bond he shared with his twin.
Murs, who rose to stardom following his participation in the sixth season of The X Factor in 2009, admitted that his commitment to the show led him to miss his twin brother’s wedding. He shared on an episode of The Voice in 2020 that they hadn’t spoken in ten years and he was unaware of his twin’s whereabouts.
Despite their contrasting personalities, Murs expressed missing the bond they shared as twins. He admitted to struggling with solitude after their estrangement, a struggle that eased upon meeting his wife.
He spoke fondly of his wife, describing her as the love of his life who transformed his feelings. Murs married Amelia Tank, a fitness model, in Essex the previous year. They welcomed their daughter, Madison, in April.
Sharing a picture of him and Amelia leaving the hospital with a baby carrier, Murs announced the arrival of their “mini Murs”. He expressed his aspiration to be an exceptional husband and father, stating that his future lies in fulfilling these roles.
While he hopes for his career to progress as it has, he emphasized that his priority is to be the best for his family. However, his twin, Ben Hart, claimed in an interview with Sunday People that Murs asked him to delete his number when he attempted to reach out in 2013 following the birth of his son. Murs has denied these allegations.
